Bio
I’m currently the VP of Policy for Americans for Responsible Innovation where I work to help improve the state of the U.S. federal government’s response to frontier AI. Before I was a tenured professor in public administration and public policy at Texas A&M University.
Projects
Research Direction: I’m exploring technical and policy responses to multi agent AI systems and power concentration.
The problem is that we still need to understand a lot more about how multi agent AI systems behave and how we might develop the technical govern and capacity to improve the current state of the art governance strategies.
What I'm looking for in a Mentee
Someone who is curious, understands a few things about advanced AI, and wants to learn more about AI governance and AI policy
What I'm Like as a Mentor
I prefer meetings with a loose agenda. I will expect the fellow to let me know what they need and not be afraid to ping me. I prefer Signal messages as my main form of communication.
